The department of Civil Engineering was established in 1962. The Civil Engineering Department has, over the years, established its status as a center for imparting high quality technical education to undergraduate and post-graduate students and consultancy to industries and various government departments located in Eastern U.P. to keep abreast of the technological developments. The existing infrastructure is being modernized constantly.

Besides the undergraduate courses this department has regular Postgraduate M.Tech. courses in 'Hill Area Development Engineering' and 'Environmental Engineering'.

The Civil Engineering Department is actively involved in testing & consultancy services. A number of sponsored projects are in hand in Civil Engineering Department.

The department has experienced and highly qualified faculty members. Many staff members are presently carrying out research work for the award of Ph.D. degree.
